How does iFeatures work

How does iFeatures work?

During the iFeatures programme, filmmakers will receive both financial and creative support to aid the development of their projects. This will include opportunities to collaborate with peers and well established talent from across the industry. iFeatures will open up a wide network of contacts from script editors to sales agents and we'll help guide each project towards production.

After the submissions period, we'll invite 16 filmmakers to take part in the Summer Development Programme, during which each team will receive a development investment of £2,500 and support from us and our partners in engaging the best, bespoke development strategy for each project. This intensive 8 week programme will see projects move from idea or outline to full treatment.

8 of the 16 will then be invited to take part in the Autumn Development Programme. These teams will each receive a further investment of £12,500 to progress their project to full script as well as to carry out more detailed 'packaging' work. This programme will last 12 weeks.

In December 2012, 3 scripts will be green lit with budgets of £350,000 each.

As part of both the Summer and Autumn development programmes iFeatures provides an ongoing professional development offer. Consisting of high-level group workshops, masterclasses, one-to-one mentoring, shadowing and networking opportunities, the offer is tailored towards group and individual needs. It will cover a range of topics - from script development through financing and production to sales, marketing and distribution - designed to enhance the creative and commercial skills of each team member and the prospects of all the projects.

Whilst we can only green light 3 films, we want every project we invest in to have the very best chance of getting made. We'll therefore continue to support all teams with on-going advice and contacts on how to get their films set up.
